ICAST 2016: New Product Showcase Preview

Contrary to some opinions I think there is a always a lot of interesting product worthy of discussion at the New Product Showcase Preview Reception. This event annually presented by Fishing Tackle Retailer is a chance for media and buyers to see and get their hands on some of the new product you can find out on the show floor. I find it interesting to think that each chance I get to visit this area there is always the possibility that some of these products might bring about tons of market success and create new players and trends within this industry while others just fall to the background amidst a sea of possibilities.

Sometimes I see products that are ahead of their time and others that are much too late. I know a lot of those that attend the New Product Showcase Preview Reception love the free food and drink, but for me I cant help but think about the people that are behind some of these products. Sure some items seem like complete copy cats, some just price point hitters or even just half ass incarnations of a good idea. However, sometimes I do enjoy seeing those that someone has obviously put a lot of time and effort into in hopes that the end user finds success with it, creates memories, and become life long lovers of the sport of fishing.

I’m usually one of the first ones in and the last ones out on Tuesday night.
